We had ourselves quite the busy Canada Day.  JX has been asking all spring for a garden of his own.  We took a trip to our neighbourhood garden centre and let him pick out some perennials.  We already had some tomatoes and marigolds that had been waiting around to be planted.   We were finally able to arrange time to have our neighbour turn the soil for us.

This is the way my garden grows... )

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Ahem.

They were emailed to us this morning!  So exciting!  So much more real!  Soooo pretty!!!!!!!!!!!!!    (Please excuse the excess exclamation marks - I am not in my right mind.)

They just need a tweak or two like moving a window, adding the chimney and dude thought we'd like a walk-in closet instead of the closet and storage space we sketched out for him.  Huh?  Not everyone in the world wants a walk-in closet kthnxbye.

Anywho, I wish I could figure out how to post them, or share them, or something!  So very cool.

Yay!

Two weeks ago we visited the shores of Lake Huron, my favourite great lake, in Goderich.  The weather was perfection.   The boys had ice cream cones and played on the climber.  Then we went for a walk along the boardwalk.  It was like a micro-mini vacation.  We came away soooo relaxed (until we got home that is).

The beach is that way ----> )

So, who wants to join me for another day at the beach?

I recently posted to my cross stitch group looking for advice to get out of my stitching slump.   They gave some great advice and I took it all!   I took a couple of days off.  I (semi) organized my stash.  I visited my LNS (local needlework shop).  I looked at all the wonderful work on this community and I started a new project.  I think it's working!   :D

I thought I'd compile a picture post of my projects to help me see that I am making some progress.  It really helped!

Pictures... lots and lots of pictures )

Thanks for looking!

I am struggling with staying connected here.   I don't know why.   I keep burying my head in gossip blogs when I don't give a flying fig about those people, and then I don't have the mental energy to comment, cheer and commiserate with all the people who do matter.

I saw my new nephew once, for a few hours, over a month ago.  Where has the time gone?  Why is it so hard for us to connect?  ARGH!

I am overwhelmed by the to-do list regarding the house.    And the fact that, right now, everything is out of our hands.  We're waiting on blueprints, and mortgage approval, and permit approval, and this guy getting back to us, and that guy getting back to us and I haven't mopped the floor in over two months!

I honestly don't know where my head is at.

I am self censoring like crazy with my LJ.   I have thought of many topics to post about and then I just.don't. do. it.   I don't want to step on toes, or alienate people, or be anything other than sunshine and light.   So I don't post about anything.   I've missed birthdays and milestones and everyday stuff and I feel crap about it.

So, I would love it if you guys challenged me.   Tell me a topic you'd like to hear me talk about.  Anything, everything!   From gardening to religions, cross stitch to sex.   Whatever strikes your fancy.  I need to exercise my brain.

Thank you.

My sister had her little boy last night!!   She called my parents to come and pick up her little girl at 7pm.   The wee lad arrived at 10:30 pm.    Guess he was in a hurry to get here.  :D   Only one day over her due date!   She decided to have a home birth and everything went very well.   The baby's name is William Colin.   Haven't seen him yet, just waiting for the all clear for visitors.

I don't quite have the baby blanket done.  :(   I could have it done by tonight though...   Here's my update post.   I had thought I'd put an additional design in the middle of the blanket.   It would probably take me another 3 days to do.  What do you think?  Is that too late?   Is there a time limit on these sorts of things?

Can't wait to see him!   Eeeeeee!

Three days of sunshine does wonders for the psyche. I feel so much more human than I have for the last while. I'm starting to feel the gardening urges kick in. This is very good. I've felt so apathetic when I look at the house and property. Why bother doing anything when it's all going to be chaos shortly? And yet there are so many things I could still be doing... our yard looks a bit trashy right now. I may do some pots of annuals to help spruce it up a bit. And my herbs of course. And perhaps cherry tomatoes and a pepper plant or two. No veggie garden this year. :( No sense in putting one in since we're not sure what sections of the yard are going to be dug up for septic, well, geothermal piping, foundation...

Mother's Day was spent with Dave and the boys at a Tae Kwon Do tournament in Georgetown. It was the first OTA tournament that Dave's taken a group to and he was so proud of how they performed. We'll be heading down to Michigan Friday evening for another tournament. (I wonder if where we are is anywhere near mumwendy. I shall have to email her! It's been so long since I've seen any of you! I'm going through withdrawal.) Dave is enjoying being a coach, but he misses competing terribly.

Still working on the ABC afghan for my sister. She's due in 6 days and I still have 4 letters to do. Eep! Perhaps she'll be overdue? ;p I had a dream about the baby last night. I think it'll be arriving shortly. Very exciting!

Sorry to spam you with these things again. JX's dragons aren't getting very many clicks in the community I'm a part of. I'd hate to see them die. The little tombstones are very sad. :( I'm putting them in the "ER" later today.

This morning, while I was packing up my stuff to leave for work, Luna was rolling around on the coffee table being adorable.   I couldn't resist taking a picture.

Picture )

She's nine months old already!  Getting to be a solid little girl.  :D   So soft and floofy.    She wants desperately to go outside and explore but we have so many toms in the neighbourhood I fear she might get hurt.   So, instead,  she sits in the window and chatters at the birds or sits at the door meowing at me to please, please mummy let her out.

Sing Polly wolly doodle all the day,
I thought I heard A chicken sneeze.
Sing Polly wolly doodle all the day.

What were they doing behind the barn? On their knees? Perhaps it's my slashy leanings but my mind goes instantly into the gutter.

Children's music is quite fascinating actually. So many phrases long lost to everyday conversation. And many are quite violent too (ie Three Blind Mice). Although there are 'clean' versions now available. They just sound silly to me.

I had an idea, long times ago, to publish a book of skipping songs from across Canada. I really should follow through on these impulses.

1. Of course the day that I'm early enough to stop and get a coffee is the day that Dave swings by work to bring me a coffee. I have two coffees! :D Well, I have one now as I've drunk one already.

2. I am posting this from my Dreamwidth account. I think. I'm attempting to post this from my Dreamwidth account. Same username of course. How else would you all find me? Plus I'm crap at thinking up usernames. Look at this one for example. Been a long time since I was a girl.

3. For those interested, I made a cross-stitch update over thisaway...

4. I'm feeling much, much better today. Thanks for the gentle hugs. :) My RMT worked miracles and the chiropractor and muscle relaxant sure helped too!

5. And just to be consistant...

Dragons!

1. I am taking a 'mental health' day today.   I'm so stressed and tense that I've pulled my jaw out of alignment.  Boy howdy does that hurt.   Haven't been able to eat much the last few days because of it.    Chewing is not fun!    I'm going to call the chiropractor and the RMT to see if either can schedule me in today.

2. Of course today, when I have a day to myself, I have cramps.  *shakes fist weakly*   Bloody nuisance.

3. I see some Robaxacet in my future.

4. In other news, I made a cross stitch post over thisaway.

And, in conclusion, dragons.

1. This morning, for no reason that I could discern, I woke up with Scat Man in my head.   I have not heard this song in years, that I'm aware.   Very strange.   Still, better that than "There's a Hole in my Bucket," which has been on mental repeat for 3 days.

2. Question pour vous - When posting my cross stitchy stuff, I'm unsure whether to re-post the entry in it's entirety from the community or just a link.   What do you guys prefer?

3.  It's sunny today.  And ---(wait for it)--- 19C/66F!   I think that winter just might be finished.   (Mind you, there was snow on the car yesterday morning) The daffodils and scilia are blooming and the grass is greening up.    Yay for spring!

4.  JX will be so excited to see all the new varieties of dragon eggs available.   He's been bugging me for more for the last few days.

5. Breakfast was extra early this morning so I've been hungry for over an hour already.   Who said we have to wait for noon?  I'm gonna eat it now!!!! /rebel

(When googling 'scatman' there was a rather sketchy looking link regarding defecating...  o_O )

I saw this on [info]beadattitude 's journal and I just had to share with all of you.   This is incredible!

It's blowing me away! The costumes, the scenery, the music...    Takes me right back to that wonderful feeling all things LOTR used to give me.
